MARCH 2009- Jonnel Covault

"Intricate Nature" The elements of age and time are apparent in this new series of prints, which includes eroding rock formations, ancient trees and sand patterns at low tide. The marks created with the carving tools add abstract and textural elements to Covault's very fine work. She is fascinated with all the details of a place, including the birds, weather and the patterns of light on water. The landscape format in black and white allows her to express the dramatic and emotional qualities of the natural world.<br /><br />
