This exhibition of light boxes is curated by Portland collector Leo Michelson. In the dark days of January, each light box, created from various methods and materials by 27 invited artists, will light up the gallery. The work includes photography, assemblage, metal, wood, fabric, wax plexi and paper.<br /><br />
Leo Michelson has been collecting art work since the 1970’s and has worked in galleries in
Los Angeles and Portland. Many young artists in the Northwest have benefited from Leo’s purchases and encouragement. He maintains an active role in the Portland arts community, and recently part of Leo’s personal art collection was donated to the Hallie Ford Museum at Willamette University in Salem
